General News / Senator Vows to Sack Anyone who Obstructs Buhari's Impeachment

The senator representing Osun East and Vice Chairman, Senate Committee and Excise, Francis Fadahunsi, has stated that opposition parties in the upper chamber of the national assembly have arrived at a conclusion to sack Buhari. In his words, they will not hesitate to sack anyone, including the Senate president, Ahmad Lawan, if they attempt to block the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari.

He stated that the majority of the members of the Senate are doubtful of Buhari's ability to tackle the insecurity ravaging the country. "How does he intend to conquer insecurity in six weeks when he couldn't end it after seven years?"

He further stated that they had given a series of suggestions on how to put an end to insecurities, but all fell on deaf ears as the Senate president is trying his best to frustrate their intentions. However, they would no longer wait for Ahmed Lawan's co-operation when the country is on fire, and the government has no plans to end it. They will not wait to fall victim.

Fadahunsi stated categorically that they would no longer be part of the 'rubber stamp' arrangements, where they are expected to pass a budget without examinations, and the Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs) are doing what pleases them.

The impeachment process would begin on September 20 if they all returned from their six weeks of annual holidays and the state of the country is still the same.
