Meet The Aspiring Sports Secretary - ORODIN

The aspiring sports secretary of the AVMS UI 2023/2024 session is Osungbade Ridwan Oluade aka ORODIN. He is a DVM I student of the faculty of veterinary medicine, University of Ibadan.

ORODIN is a mnemonic of his name, Osungbade Ridwan Oluade Daryl Inioluwa Niyi. He was born on 17th April 2001, and he is from Osun state.

In his words, "I noticed that the faculty's sports segment is not widely considered, and people are apathetic about sports. I want to put the sports segment on the right path, and ensure we do well in sporting activities."

According to him, he nursed this ambition right from his 100-level days, after successfully taking his team to 1st place victory at the CBN Cup. This was during his tenure as his class Sports Secretary, making his class the first vet class to win the tournament, after a long while in the history of Vet.

When questioned about his take on vet students being sceptical about combining sporting activities with vet school, he responded thus, "According to research done, a student who partakes in sporting activities is believed to have a sound mind. Sport is a good form of exercise, and when a student knows how to prioritize correctly, he or she is good to go."

His personal motto? "Every day is a second chance!"
