New Direction for IVSA Unibadan, as MO Completes Handover

The International Veterinary Students Association (IVSA) Member Organization in the University of Ibadan had its new set of executives installed on Monday, 26th of June, 2023, as the terms of the previous administrators came to an end. The organization completed a resurgent phase that saw its members return to activity and the MO increase in functionality.

The event started at 9.30 am and was anchored by outgoing Secretary-General, Fatihah Abdussalam. It was held in an informal setting to further ease the tension from exams, as the dress code relaxed from the customary corporate wear to denim outfits. The get-together featured reports from the outgoing excos, the administrative handing-over ceremony, and awards and recognition for the finalists, and outstanding members of the MO.

In line with its informal theme, there were games and dance contests, coupled with refreshments to mark the end of the session and launch the members into holiday mode. The outgoing executives of the association included: Anuoluwa Bolaji-Olutunji - the outgoing President, Shalom Abraham - the outgoing Exchange Officer, Fatihah Abdussalam - the outgoing Secretary-General, Saheed Ahmed - the outgoing Information Officer, Abiola Fasanya - the outgoing Sponsorship Officer, and Abdul-Majeed Isa - the outgoing Treasurer.

All finalists at the meeting received certificates of recognition, especially for their work in resuscitating the MO and turning its operations around. Active members and chairpersons of ad-hoc committees also received certificates of service.

The newly installed executives are as follows: Abiola Fasanya - President, Saheed Ahmed - Exchange Officer, Enoch Adetoyan - Secretary-General, Dolapo Oyeyebi - Information Officer, Abdul-Bassit Hamza - Sponsorship Officer, and Helen Adigun - Treasurer.

The newly installed President, Abiola Fasanya, gave an acceptance speech, congratulating his cabinet while enjoining members to increase their levels of participation in the new tenure, as more activities will be added to the regular IVSA Unibadan schedule.

The event was brought to a close at 11.30 am, after a brief photo session with awardees, outgoing, and newly-installed executives.
