How to Smell Good All Day, Despite 8-5 Classes
Some people are born without the genes that cause body odor, but it is certainly very rare in Nigeria.
Smelling good is not something that happens to us by chance. It requires conscious effort to smell pleasant.
If there is one thing that is synonymous with being a student of the faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan, it is the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. classes. The long stretch of classes is a lot, and, as if that isn't enough, there is the crushing workload and the need to dress corporate four out of five times a week.
As a result of this, smelling good all through the day might seem a bit challenging. It could be particularly tough to achieve this because so much is seeking your attention all at once. However, this does not make it an impossible feat to achieve. In this article, we will share with you three tips to keep yourself smelling good.
Have Your Bath Regularly and Properly
The role of proper hygiene cannot be overstated in maintaining good body odor. No matter how many perfumes and deodorants you use, you can never totally mask the smell of an unwashed body.
While taking a bath, it is important to pay special attention to the parts of your body that contain the apocrine sweat glands. These glands are responsible for the production of smelly sweat, and are found in the armpits and some other body parts.
Always ensure that you scrub your body properly from head to toe, as this is the first step towards smelling good.
Strategically Place Your Perfume on Your Pulse Points
In case you weren’t sure, yes, we recommend using perfume.
However, rather than just spraying your perfume into the air and stepping under it to let the droplets fall onto your skin, like some people, there is a better way to do it. Now, your pulse points are the parts of your body where the skin is quite thin and the movement of blood through your arteries can be easily felt. These points include your wrists, the back of your knees, your neck, and the inside of your elbows.
Blood is close to the surface in these areas and generates body heat all through the day. Applying perfume to these spots will allow your fragrance to continue to radiate and spread all through the day, thus effectively keeping you smelling nice.
Eat Foods That Are Rich In Antioxidants
It's very likely that when you learned about antioxidants in veterinary biochemistry, smelling good was not one of the benefits given in class. However, it would interest you to know that healthy foods and fruits such as leafy green vegetables, tomatoes, oranges, and nuts contain compounds that help clean your body from the inside out.
This, in turn, will contribute to your having a more pleasant natural scent. If you are someone who doesn’t like the idea of using perfumes and deodorants, this could be a solution for you.
A bonus tip is not to rub your wrists together vigorously when you apply perfume on them. This breaks down the fragrance and makes it fade faster, achieving the exact opposite of what we want.
At the end of the day, there are so many factors that determine how each person smells. But you can’t just leave everything to chance. Therefore, as intentional as you are about getting good grades in vet school, try to prioritize smelling good too.
