BRAND OF THE WEEK: TONIOCHE PHOTOGRAPHY
BRAND OF THE WEEK: PHOTOS BY TONIOCHE.
For this week, the brand of the week is ToniOche Photography. We spoke to Okoh Anthony, the brains behind the brand, and this is how it went.
Olubode Josephine: Good evening, and thank you for agreeing to do this with me. My name is Josephine Olubode. Can you introduce yourself to our audience, please?
Toni Oche: Good evening, and thank you for the opportunity.
My name is Anthony Oche Okoh. Popularly known as Toni, I'm a student of DVM III.
O.J: Thank you, Anthony; it is nice to meet you! Could you enlighten us a bit about your brand? What exactly do you do at ToniOche Photography?
T.O: ToniOche Photography is a brand that chooses to save memories as wonderful as they appear in time. We take the initiative to record beautiful days and moments so you can reflect on them and relive them.
I wouldn't say I like change, so this might be one of the reasons I chose photography. The ability to stop time and freeze expressions - unchanged, pulled me to it, and it's what we stand for.
ToniOche photography deals in portraits, covering events, creating memories at weddings, and enlarging pictures and frames. We don't just give you your money's worth; we sell the experience.
Anthony Okoh
O.J: Wow, This does sound nice when you describe it that way. I'm sure you do an outstanding job taking pictures of people.
T.O: Yes, we do, and our clients can attest to that.
O.J: Well done, Mr. Okoh. When did you start your business?
T.O: The business started officially in October 2020.
O.J: Oh, that is nice. It seems it is one of the 'lockdown babies.'
T.O: Yes, it has to be after all the postponing I did.
O.J: What inspired you to start the business?
T.O: Well, My family has always focused on learning a skill before entering university. So, when I was done with secondary school, it fell on me to choose what to do.
I chose photography because stopping time and making people comfortable simultaneously was new, and I wanted to explore that.
Now, I can say that photography inspired me more than I imagined because it has made me more sociable and outgoing regardless of who I meet or where I am.
O.J: Hmm, This does sound inspiring. So, how do you successfully balance running your business with being a full-time vet student?
T.O: Mostly, I joke and say that I am a vet student by weekday and a photographer by weekend, but it's my reality.
It is pretty hard most times doing a demanding course and a business, but I try to give each one their attention and not lose out on both.
During the weekdays, I attend classes and read my books, but on weekends, I schedule jobs and do them thoroughly.
It's never a 50:50 thing, though, as one always spills into the other, and I have to make sacrifices, but knowing what you want with each step you take helps get a balance.
Also, delegating jobs or assignments to trustworthy people helps. You don't have to do it all yourself.
O.J: Thank you for this insight and the little advice there! I hope things all work out well for you in the end.
T.O: Thank you. I hope so, too.
O.J: What is your favorite part of being a photographer?
T.O: When people pay In full... Lol.
But seriously, it's when I deliver pictures, and the review comes back as impressive as I've worked. It's one of the best feelings ever.
Knowing the current delivery was better than the last, and there's improvement in my craft makes being a photographer worth it every day.
O.J: P.S. My favorite part is when people pay in full, too. Are there any special discounts coming soon that we should know about?
T.O: Well, right now, we are offering convocation packages, and you can help spread the word. The flyer would be out before the end of the week, and it's juicy for those interested.
O.J.:We'd be sure to keep an eye out for that then. How can we reach you on social media platforms?
T.O: I'm @photosbytonioche on IG and @photosbyTO on Twitter
I'm also available on WhatsApp at https://wa.me/2349046154765
O.J.: Thank you for your time, Anthony. I wish you good luck in your future endeavors!
T.O: Thank you too, Josephine.
