If You Win $10 Million Today, Will You Still Decide To Complete Vet School?
Hello!
Welcome to the rants and opinions section of the AVMS Editorial Board, UI.
This week, the topic of discussion is: “If you win $10 million today, will you still decide to complete vet school?”
Let me start by asking you this question. Do you know how much the dollar to Naira rate currently is?
998.51 Naira to 1 dollar!
Now, let's try to do some calculations(😂), multiply $10 million dollars by 998.51
There, we have 9,985,100,000 Naira.
A whopping nine billion, nine hundred and eighty - five million, one hundred thousand Naira!
Now, think. If you were to win 9,985,100,000 Naira today, will you still choose to complete your DVM program in vet school?
Before you make your decision, there are some things you should know. Trust me, it might change your current perspective and choice.
By deciding to finish your DVM program in vet school, you are contributing to the betterment of society. Vet school is important as a training ground for veterinarians, and it plays such a crucial role in public health, food safety, and welfare of animals.
By becoming a veterinarian, you can monitor and control zoonotic diseases (infectious diseases transmitted from animals to humans, and humans to animals).
You can also venture into veterinary-health related research, and make a huge difference in the lives and welfare of several animals, and humans at large.
Moreover, veterinary training provides you with a unique set of skills. Waking up and getting to class on or before 8:00 AM sure has its advantages.
You get to develop good habits, such as punctuality, and having the right attitude to work. Some skills gained can be applied in various settings and aspects of life, and may be very useful for life after school.
Furthermore, before you make your choice, remember that you serve a noble profession. 😌
If you were to win $10 million within the next 24 hours, would you still decide to finish vet school, and become a distinguished veterinarian? Let's have your opinion in the comment section, below. 😉
Will I still decide to stay in vet school if I win $10 million today? You can also check out my answer in the comment section. 🚀😌👇
Let's meet again next week.
Until then, browse through other articles of the Editorial Board, and enjoy.
Bye. 😎👉👈❤️

I promised to give my opinion, so, here is my humble view about this topic. 😌
ReplyDeleteIf I win $10 million today, will I still decide to complete vet school?
Need I mention that it is of utmost importance to view this topic critically, and approach it from various perspectives? This is because there is simply no right or wrong answer to it.
Dropping out of vet school, after hitting a jackpot of such a huge amount, may seem like the best decision any typical vet student will take. If I can have the money without having to go through all the rigours of vet school, then why not? After all, the end goal of everyone studying veterinary medicine is to make money.
However, the above does not negate the fact that some people are studying veterinary medicine because it is “veterinary medicine,” not just because they require something to use to pay their bills in the future.
Passion will not pay my bills. Money will. However, I also have to consider the fact that I am in upper vet, meaning that I have completed at least half of my DVM program. So, why not just go ahead to complete it and collect the “DVM?”
In a nutshell, I'll be chilling with $10 million in my account while completing my DVM program. If I can have pizza and sharwama, why settle for just one when I can eat both? 😌🎉
