New Senate President, Mikail Abiola Fasanya Emphasizes Transparency and Strong Partnership with Executive President.

In the recent senate meeting that marked the handing over ceremony, the newly elected Senate President, Senator Mikail Abiola Fasanya , highlighted his commitment to impartiality and effective collaboration with the Executive President. This assertion came to the fore during the question session, where Senator Mikail underscored that his friendship with the Executive President would not compromise his decision-making but rather enhance the administration’s efficiency.
The senate handing over ceremony commenced with the outgoing Senate President delivering a heartfelt address, offering valuable advice to the senators.
Following tradition, the new 600-level students were tasked with nominating a new Senate President. Senator Mikail emerged as the unanimous nominee and was subsequently called to the floor to respond to key questions.
One of the pivotal questions posed to Senator Mikail concerned the potential impact of his relationship with the new Executive President on his role as Senate President. Senator Mikail confidently addressed the concern, stating, "My friendship with the Executive President will be an asset to our administration. It will enhance open communication and collaboration, ultimately benefiting our decision-making process."
Further showcasing his capability for fair judgment, Senator Mikail was also asked to critique the former administration. He provided a balanced response, acknowledging areas for improvement while commending the achievements of his predecessors.
After a thorough deliberation and vote, the senators officially elected Senator Mikail as the new Senate President. In his inaugural address, Senator Mikail expressed his gratitude towards the outgoing Senate President for his dedicated service. He also recognized his colleagues, appreciating the collective effort and trust placed in him.
The meeting concluded with an adjournment and the presentation of certificates to the senators for the 2022/23 academic session.
