“Here’s to man’s best friend. The Titans among pets. The agents of shield. The most loyal, caring and selfless animals. How beautiful life would be if all humans had tender hearts, a sweet nature and an unwavering loyalty, as the dogs. These animals are so special and definitely deserve a whole show dedicated to celebrating them and their service to mankind.” This, I believe, was at the heart of founding the Dog show program.
The Dog show is the most talked about animal show by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, in the University of Ibadan. Three words describe this event: Fascinating, Enlightening, and Fun! If you have ever heard about this event and wondered what it is about or its relevance, then keep reading.
This spectacular event brings other departments and individuals in the University of Ibadan and its environs, together with the Veterinary medical students and veterinarians. The aim is for a fun, human-animal interaction. The event is also absolutely relatable for everybody, especially the pet lovers and it is a super packed and amazing one. Here’s why you shouldn’t miss the next dog show.
You Need to Get A Social Life, and So Does Your Pet.
What’s that thing they say about ‘all work and no play…’. This event is one you and your pet don’t want to miss. You’d be glad you came and your pet’s emotional health would be grateful for it. This is because, dogs, just like humans, are social animals and need exciting activities like this one.
The Health of Your Pet is Top Priority
One of the activities that take place during the event is free vaccination against Rabies and other diseases, and a general health check-up for your pet. So, at completely free or ridiculously subsidized rates, you get to vaccinate your pets, ensuring their well-being.
There are Lots of Freebies and Prizes to be Won.
Past dog shows usually featured competitions and activities, that you and your pet can take part in and win exciting prizes.
